Feed The Children UK
The chief executive recognised that he needed to get wider exposure if the charity was to help more vulnerable people
in the UK and Africa. Arising from an earlier association with us when he worked for another charity client, he asked us
to help.
Brief: Advise on and help Feed The Children UK grow to help more people in need.
Action: We have spearheaded the promotion of various campaigns that have seen the charity's income and profile
increase. From Rake Out Your Old Tools (link) to the recent Pants and Pads appeal (link to FTC) we are always looking for
a new angle to reach audiences.
On pants and pads, we are targeting women who will understand what it would be like if they didn't have access to these
basic necessities. It can make a big difference to girls' education in Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe. If the African girls do
not have these they have to miss one week in four of their education, putting them at a great disadvantage. The low cost
campaign of letters, posters and news releases is capturing the imagination of women, for example in gyms. One gym has
collected hundreds of packs in only a month.
Result: Pants and pads hasn't run its course yet, but the campaign looks set to fill a ships container! Watch this
space. On other work for this charity, just see what the CEO thinks...
Feedback: "With the help of DSH PR we have been able to expand our ideas and constantly evolve the way that we
approach our audiences. Their extensive knowledge of the media and the systems by which they operate has undoubtedly
increased our national profile. DSH have worked closely with us and understand our needs completely. Their passion for
our work, with their professional advice and suggestions have proved to be invaluable." Brian Main, Chief Executive
Officer, Feed The Children UK.
